President Andrés Manuel López Obrador denied that the Mexican Army has spied on activists and journalists through the Pegasus system, and maintained that the National Defense Secretariat SEDENA only carries out “intelligence work”.

During his daily morning press conference on Friday, March 10th, the President stated that there is no illegality in the work carried out by the Intelligence Center (CNI) in conjunction with the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena).

The above, after it was revealed that a human rights defender suffered espionage actions, which Lopez Obrador denied and assured that his government carries out intelligence and investigation, but not espionage.
