18 year old reported missing in Yucatan turns up dead

The search for a young man reported missing in Yucatan had a tragic outcome, as he was found dead in the mountains of Chemax.

Angel G. Chan P., 18 years old, was reported missing on Friday, March 17th, and did not return to his home.

After his disappearance was reported, municipal and state authorities began the pertinent investigations and the young man was found dead near a ranch in the Xalau police station, in the municipality of Chemax.

Agents of the Secretaría de Seguridad Pública (SSP), as well as agents of the Municipal Police, family, and friends of the young man were in charge of the search for him.

It is worth mentioning that the young man’s father was the one who identified the body.

So far the cause of death is unknown, however, the body was taken by agents of the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo), who will be in charge of transferring the body to the morgue where the autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Agents of the State Investigation Police (PEI) went to the scene to collect evidence to clarify the case.
