The Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) will build and operate in a first stage six hotels that will be installed near the tracks of the Mayan Train, in the states of Campeche, Quintana Roo, Yucatan and Campeche, as announced this Friday by President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in the morning conference.

(El Heraldo).- On a tour of Yucatan, the president announced that four of the six sites needed for the hotels are already in place, which he hopes will be ready before December 2023, when he will inaugurate the Mayan Train. In order to supervise these projects, he said, he will be making fortnightly visits to the south of the country instead of every three weeks.

” I will take advantage of this because we have two pending matters, if you observed, six hotels are going to be built in a first stage along the entire route, in the section of the Mayan Train. And we have already seen four plots of land and we are missing two,” he said during his morning speech at Military Air Base No. 8.

The first stage of the Tren Maya hotel project will be located in Nuevo Uxmal, Edzná and Calakmul, in the state of Campeche; in Tulum, Quintana Roo; in Chichen Itzá, Yucatán; and in Palenque, Chiapas. All will be operated by the Sedena.

“Yes, all six. They already said it when it was given. To know the information of the zopilotas, yes, disguised as a macaw. Here we say, in Tabasco the zopilote is called chombo, and it is not a bad saying, we have to preserve the speech of each region of the country,” he answered.
