The “Tour de Casas de Mérida” returns on Sunday, November 6 for its 12th edition. Seven houses in the Centro Histórico, La Ermita de Santa Isabel, García Ginerés, San Juan, Santiago and Chuminopolis will be open for five hours, from noon to 5 pm.

(SIPSE).- This time the theme is: “New and innovative, avant-garde proposals that combine the colonial with the modern”, informed Carlos Antonio Cabrera May, from the organizing committee.

Thanks to the fact that no negative incident has ever been recorded in the 11 previous events, the owners of the houses continue to collaborate altruistically in this great event.

The organizer explained that after three years of not taking place due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this long awaited event is back, so that seven houses in the state capital can be opened, so that visitors can admire the majesty of these buildings, their architecture and learn some of the stories that jealously guard their walls and that some of the owners can share with visitors.

The Tour is a self-guided tour, where each person receives a map with the locations and can take the tour in the order they choose. This is the first year that an additional hour will be granted, which means that the duration of the tour will be five hours.
