Three drunks try to rob a bank with knives and machetes in Kinchil, Yucatan

Three men under the influence of alcohol tried to force their way into the facilities of the “Banco del Bienestar” Welfare Bank of this town, but the Municipal Police agents managed to subdue two of them.

The case occurred around 5:30 p.m., the workers of the bank were at the entrance, ready to leave when three individuals arrived on foot in a threatening tone and entered the premises located on Calle 19 between 22 and 24.

Armed with bottles, a knife, and a machete, they verbally attacked the employees, saying one of they were going to break the ATM open.

One of the bank staff reported the events to the local police.
When the police arrived, the drunks climbed on a tricycle and began a chase towards the center of town.

At the corner of Calle 20 and 19, two of the criminals were trapped and the third, who was armed with a machete, managed to escape to take refuge in his home located two blocks away.

The two arrested are with the initials J.A.B.P., 22, and J.G.B.P. 23 years old, both residents of Kinchil, Yucatan.

It is still to be determined if the bank will file a lawsuit before the FGE, due to these threats and attacks on their employees, including the security guard.
