A 48-year-old woman was found dead on Tuesday, August 30th, inside a property in the Mercedes Barrera neighborhood of Mérida.

According to the first reports, the woman would have taken her own life in her home, located on Calle 58 in that neighborhood in southern Merida, not far from the Merida International Airport area.

It was reported that the woman was found hanging by the neck by her relatives, and it was they who notified the emergency number 911 to call an ambulance and try to save her life.

However, when paramedics arrived at the property they could only confirm that the woman had died.

At around five in the afternoon, personnel from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP Yucatán) were already on the site to seal off the house, while personnel from the State Investigative Police already carried out the first steps on the site.
