A family of tourists on board a Nissan Sentra suffered a dramatic accident, after the driver lost control of the vehicle on the Kinchil-Celestún highway.
According to the official report, a woman about forty years of age was driving the Nissan Sentra with Yucatan license plate number (YZV466B), heading for the beaches of Celestún with two girls and a boy, to spend an afternoon of fun and take a dip in the sea of that coastal municipality.
But while driving on that road, the woman lost control of the steering wheel and the car ended up overturned in the bushes. Fortunately, the woman along with her offspring was immediately helped by her relatives who were riding in another car behind her.
The relatives of the driver immediately called the 911 emergency number.
Paramedics from the Red Cross arrived to treat two injured women who sustained several blows, one of them a minor with a cut on her right leg.
The compact car ended up as a total loss and it was said that her insurance was expired, so the driver along with her daughter were taken to a hospital in Mérida.
