In 2018, the governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila, contacted the governor of Aguascalientes, Martín Orozco, to insist that he wanted Yucatán to be the guest state at the San Marcos National Fair, however, after two years of not be possible, this year “we agreed to be the guest state this year,” he said.

Aguascalientes Governor Martín Orozco pointed out that Aguascalientes and Yucatán have many similarities as they are states that enjoy security.

“Both of our states have cities that house a large part of the population, above all what we have in common are committed governments that are open to all citizens”, Martín Orozco said.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Vila stated that the idea is to make the people of Aguascalientes fall in love with the Yucatan by showcasing some of the amenities and products that the state has to offer.

“We have the Xmatkuil fair, which is a regional fair, and being able to come and enjoy the Feria de San Marcos, one of the main fairs in the country is something that greatly enriches us, especially because it opens doors for us”, Vila continued.

Governor Mauricio Vila announced that 40 Yucatecan artists will be performing at the Feria de San Marcos, such as the Jaranera Orchestra, and the Folkloric Ballet of the State of Yucatan, among others.

I want to invite all the people of the country to visit this fair and to stop by the Yucatan pavilion, there will be a restaurant where they can taste authentic Yucatecan food such as Cochinita Pibil, Panuchos, Papadzules, Guayaberas, hot Habanero sauces, and much more.
