Chetumal and Mahahual register an outstanding hotel occupancy during Easter

Chetumal and Mahahual, two destinations in the South of Quintana Roo, reached 70 and 100 percent occupancy in hotel, respectively, derived from a rebound in the influx of tourists during Semana Santa.

The arrival of tourists increased significantly in Chetumal during Holy Week, with a 70 percent hotel occupancy. While Mahahual registered 100 percent.

The most recent report of the Municipal Tourism Directorate indicates that, during the last month, the operation of the Chetumal airport mobilized 29 thousand passengers, both foreign and national.

In addition, approximately 400 flights were registered in that period and an increase of 35 percent in activity compared to the previous month, which had a positive impact on the local economy since an estimated hotel occupancy of 70 percent was registered in Chetumal. and close to 100 percent in Mahahual.

In this same area, it was noted that the Guatemala-Chetumal flight will begin operations on May 5, with a frequency of three weekly flights, which dates are still to be defined.

A white balance has been registered so far by the local police, and the operation will conclude until Sunday, April 24.

In Chetumal, the influx of visitors was notorious, derived from multiple events that took place in the State Capital and the rural area of ​​the Municipality of Othón P. Blanco.
