(MÉRIDA, YUC. – CITY COUNCIL), January 19, 2022.- All health protocols will be reinforced so that people who wish to visit the city of Mérida abide by these measures, this is derived from the high rate of infections of Ómicron , a variant of Covid-19 , which has been registered since the beginning of the year , reported the director of Economic Development and Tourism of the Mérida City Council, José Luis Martínez Semerena.
He specified that these measures will be disseminated through a massive campaign on social networks and companies that provide tourist services, with the aim that the high numbers of infections of this virus decrease.
From January 1st to 16th of this year, there is a cumulative of 5,243 infections, 652 from Sunday’s report, 28 deaths and more than 100 people in public hospitals in the State, so due to these data they will be reinforcing the sanitary protocols in Mérida so that citizens and visitors abide by them.
“Any person who arrives in the City of Mérida will have to adhere to the rules established by the different establishments, the various institutions, businesses and companies, to be served,” he said.
Martínez Semerena explained that they will be holding a series of talks with the representatives of the different business chambers so that they can offer the necessary information to their members, “it is important that businesses have the necessary information so that all parties, authorities, businessmen, inhabitants, tourists can take care and protect ourselves from this virus.”
