Yucatan stands out for its combat against Covid-19 and economic recovery

In an interview with Salvador García Soto on the program “A la 1” of El Heraldo Media Group, the local leader said that his government has a positive balance

(MERIDA, YUC. – YUCATAN STATE GOVERNMENT).- Mauricio Vila , Governor of Yucatan , accepted that the state is within an area in which infections by the Omicron variant of the coronavirus have been systematically increased.

The local leader told Salvador García Soto that the state has an application developed by Google and Apple that allows Yucatecans to receive an alert if they are near an infected person.

He added that the population has been called to keep the sanitary protocols and not expose themselves to the virus . He highlighted the people’s response to this request and estimated that if this trend continues, it will not be necessary to increase the containment measures against Covid-19.

He also assured that the state has managed to have a positive balance since he began his administration because he has dedicated himself to maintaining teamwork and coordination between the three levels of government.

He reported that the economic recovery is also experiencing a good performance, since the arrival of 100 billion pesos of investment in more than 200 projects has been achieved.

He added that they are also working on increasing the infrastructure to improve the services that the inhabitants of the state have. In security, he commented, the entity has the largest number of surveillance cameras, 6,700, which are integrated into the C5i.

He assured that the balance is positive in the entity , because a different path has been followed than the one in various states.

The governor said that the mention of his name among the presidential candidates for 2024 is part of the result that his government has had, although he said that he will not add to the speculation about the electoral contest.

“The truth is that it is a subject that I have not analyzed in depth,” he said.

He assured that he will not anticipate the electoral situation , since there are still many pending in the entity in which he wants to work and he will respect the times that are established by law to talk about the subject.
