(MERIDA, YUC. – YUCATAN STATE GOVERNMENT).- Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal held a meeting with the recently appointed director of the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (Fonatur), Javier May Rodríguez, to reaffirm the commitment and willingness to continue working on projects that translate into benefits for Yucatecans, such as the Maya Train that will promote the economic reactivation of the state and the southeast region.
Vila Dosal stressed that this project is a great opportunity for Yucatan, since it will allow the generation of new jobs, but also trigger commercial and tourist areas as a result of the integration of the region, especially in the face of the challenges left by the Coronavirus pandemic..

The Governor reiterated his administration’s willingness to continue working with Fonatur and the federal government on this plan that will impact the progress of the southeastern region of the country.
