The return to classrooms and other university facilities, such as laboratories, workshops or clinics, will be done with a limited capacity between 50 and 75 percent of the capacity of each space, so that each faculty will organize the days, times and groups of students who will attend.
(MERIDA, YUC. -UADY).- The Autonomous University of Yucatan (UADY), in accordance with the recommendations issued by the state government and given the progress in the vaccination process, reported that the return to face-to-face classes in the undergraduate and graduate programs will be starting next Monday, January 31.
In it they communicated that, as part of their guidelines for returning to face-to-face classes, the prevention measures indicated in the health protocols developed by the Faculties of Nursing and Medicine will continue, in addition to the attention to logistics issues established by the Faculty of Chemical Engineering for the entrance, permanence and exit of the people in the facilities of each university dependency.
As the school period progresses, the face-to-face capacity will increase until it reaches 100 percent, as long as the sanitary conditions allow it and there is authorization from the health authorities.
UADY authorities will maintain close contact with the state and federal governments, in such a way that they will heed the recommendations of the experts of the Public Health Committee, epidemiologists and the Yucatan Ministry of Health (SSY), to continue with the necessary measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infections.
In the case of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, some classrooms are currently being remodeled, so face-to-face attendance for part of the student community will be delayed by two to three weeks. However, the rest of the spaces will be used for face-to-face academic activities.
The university pointed out that they have generated the conditions for a safe return to face-to-face classes, for the benefit of the more than 17,200 undergraduate students and 1,900 postgraduate students who make up the university.
