As a curious fact, his four children were fathered by Mrs. Benita Rodríguez Borges (+). But since they were not married and lived in a free union, the Civil Registry at that time had to recognize their four children as natural children, so they only bear the surname of the late mother. But despite not bearing his last name, Don Lindo loved them as if they were his own.

On Friday, January 21st, 2022, Herlindo was transferred to emergency room of the IMSS Juarez Hospital, as he developed pneumonia as a consequence of the new strain of Omicron coronavirus.

Rest in peace Don Lindo, as he was affectionately called in this town and The Yucatan Times offers its heartfelt condolences to the family.
