The governor said that the artificial island project in Campeche will not materialize, as recently proposed by a Dutch company, a work that would allow the arrival of pleasure boats with more than five thousand passengers.

(CAMPECHE, CAMP. – TYT), January 26, 2022.- During an interview with the media, Governor Layda Sansores affirms that at no time has the construction of an artificial island been considered on the coast of Campeche.

All this originated from the fact that in previous days a Dutch businessmen presented a draft as a proposal for the government, and as a government they only had to listen, but that does not mean that this project has been contemplated by the state government at any time.

In this way, the governor mentioned that the Dutch company is recognized, since they made the Port of Progreso, a New Progreso, and their proposal was to deepen the Seybaplaya dredging so that more cruise ships of more than two thousand people can enter and that’s where the idea came from but it just stayed that way.

“It’s a design, it’s not considered at all, for me there are more important things, it’s just a proposal.” the governor asserted.

For Layda Sansores, her government has other priorities. “We do not think about that at the moment, it is attractive to see how creative they are, but it is not specifically what we are looking for” Layda Sansores concluded.
