

Free workshops will be offered for women from the municipalities of Cantamayec, Kinchil, Mayapán, Opichén, Sotuta and Tekax.
Mérida, Yucatán (January 27, 2022).- Women from Cantamayec, Kinchil, Mayapán, Opichén, Sotuta, and Tekax will have free access to training, counseling, and networking on personal development and entrepreneurship.
This is due to the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Secretaría de las Mujeres (Semujeres) and Grupo Kuo.
With this agreement, the joint actions that began in 2021 will be followed up, such as the electricity and appliance maintenance course for users of the Violeta de Mayapán Regional Center, or training on entrepreneurship in Cantamayec, Tekax, Opichén, and Kinchil, among other activities.
Workshops in more than 50 communities
To date, the company has held workshops on hammock weaving, handicrafts, honey products, glass bottle recycling, and backyard vegetable gardens in more than 50 communities, where participants have initiated productive projects and achieved economic autonomy, which is essential to prevent gender violence.
The company will also receive advice and training to join the Distintivo Violeta program, recently launched by Semujeres, with the aim of creating safe workspaces with the private sector and expanding growth opportunities for Yucatecan women in this field.
Through these schemes, the State Government, through Semujeres, reaffirms its commitment to join efforts and redouble its efforts so that the inhabitants of the state can have access to a better quality of life.
