Mérida, Yucatán.- Four percent of the Yucatán population has tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection during the Covid-19 pandemic, according to an update released yesterday by the Yucatán Ministry of Health (SSY).
Based on data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), the population of Yucatán is 2,320,898 and to date there are 93,214 positive infections. Based on the results of epidemiological tests, four percent have tested positive for the lethal respiratory disease, in a period of 687 days.

So far there have been 6,584 deaths in a little more than 22 months of pandemic in the state. On November 16, 2020, the morbidity rate was 999.87 per 100 thousand inhabitants, that is, one percent of the population.
After the confirmation of the first case in the entity, 250 days elapsed from March 12, 2020 to that date. While two percent of the population infected by the coronavirus occurred on June 28, 2021, that is, 224 days elapsed.
However, in 90 days the change to three percent of the population was registered, since on September 26, 2021 the total number of infections was 69,705 people, so the morbidity rate is three thousand, 3.36 per one hundred thousand inhabitants, that is, 3.0034 percent of the population of Yucatán.
Today, the morbidity rate is three thousand 966.48 per one hundred thousand inhabitants, that is, 3.966.48 percent.
