Fight between drug dealers leaves one dead in Yaxcabá, Yucatan

MERIDA, Yucatán, (January 11, 2022).- The 23-year-old young man with the initials R.P.P. was shot dead, and his murderer, L.M.P.C., just 19 years old, was left in the hands of the authorities, after these violent events that occurred on Sunday, January 9th, in Tixcacaltuyub, Yaxcabá community.

It was found that in this community there was, as almost every weekend, a confrontation between gang members, which first was a fistfight, then the stones came out, and finally, in this case, Luis “N” took out a shotgun and fired the weapon at his rivals.

There were two young people who received the full impact, but one of them died minutes later, before which the murderer decided to flee, but did not count on the people of the place who identified him and reported to the Police, achieving his arrest on the same day.

It is worth mentioning that the alleged murderer is the cousin of the mortal victim.

The inhabitants of this community say they are fed up with the violence between the young people, so they ask that the SSP intervene since many of them work all week in the Riviera Maya, and when they return on weekends they not only set up fights and quarrels, but they are also in charge of distributing drugs that they get in those areas of Quintana Roo.
