(MERIDA, YUC. – CANAIVE).- Despite the fact that there is an increase in Covid-19 infections, the National Chamber of the Clothing Industry (Canaive), Yucatan Delegation, reported that both national and foreign orders remain .

Its president, Jorge Moreno González, affirmed that the panorama is positive, because in this way there is no significant affectation in economic matters despite the fact that the pandemic continues, compared to the previous two years.

The businessman also specified that the orders continue to arrive, because it is a “reality” that the hiring of personnel occurs due to the high number of operations that are being carried out, mainly with the United States.

This has generated that jobs continue to recover “little by little, but increasing”, which compared to the previous two years paint a better scenario for the coming months, when they expected better stability.

He said that entrepreneurs have implemented commercial strategies that have allowed them to start the year well; However, with the “surprise” that this new variant gave, where cases are skyrocketing, the outlook becomes uncertain.

“The reality of the Omicron has not yet hit us; Perhaps in a month it will be when the real consequences of massive contagion begin to be seen, we are even foreseeing scenarios within the maquiladoras, where they have to close for that reason, so far this is not yet seen, ” he indicated.
