Ucú, Yucatán; (January 11, 2022)- A shocking discovery was registered this Monday morning in the mountains of Ucú, when some loggers found suspended the mummified body of a man, in the rural community of “Talix”, Yaxché de Peón, municipality of Uú, Yucatan.
The events were recorded when Mr. José Pech, 58, went out to the woods with his relative Eleocario Pech, 25, both neighbors of the Yaxché de Peón community to collect firewood, and encountered the horrific scene, they immediately notified the Municipal Police.

Everything suggests that it is a suicide, however, the authorities in charge of this case will determine the causes of death of this man. The now-deceased wore blue jeans, with a short-sleeved shirt and boots. On one side a cap, a sickle, and a backpack were lying on the ground.

At the place, personnel from the State Investigation Police (PEI), Forensic Medical Service) Semefo, Municipal Police of Ucú as well as personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) arrived for the legal proceedings.
Finally, authorities said the body has not been identified yet, although it is not ruled out that it could be someone who arrived a few weeks ago to live in Ucu, Yucatan.
