AMLO was admitted to the Central Military Hospital for cardiac catheterization

CDMX | Animal Politico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador was admitted at the Central Military Hospital of the Ministry of National Defense in Mexico City, on the morning of Friday, January 21, for cardiac catheterization reported the Ministry of the Interior.

The spokesman for the Presidency, Jesús Ramírez Cuevas, maintained that it is a “scheduled routine medical check-up,” without offering further information.

Later, the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, explained that due to the president’s background, preventive studies are carried out every six months (laboratory, electrocardiogram, stress test, and/or tomography).

“Based on the results of his last check-up, the medical team treating him considered it necessary to perform a cardiac catheterization, which was carried out on Friday, January 21, around 4:30 p.m.,” Lopez Hernandez detailed.

During the procedure, it was found that López Obrador’s heart and arteries are “healthy and functioning properly”, so it was not necessary to carry out another type of intervention.
