Only in Mérida it canceled four flights due to infections among pilots and flight attendants.
MEXICO, (January 10, 2022).- At the national level, Aeroméxico canceled a little more than 80 flights for two days because its pilots and flight attendants were infected, a notification is published on its social media account.
The company canceled four flights to and from the city of Mérida this Saturday, due to the lack of crew due to the group contagion of COVID-19, reported on Friday, January 7 in Mexico City.
The Mérida airport reported that the cancellation of the four flights meant that more than 200 people could not leave the Yucatecan capital to Mexico City, which caused great annoyance among Aeromexico users.
The suspension of routes caused innumerable complaints from passengers who were not notified in time of the cancellation of their flights, which led to long lines at counters, stress, and numerous calls for attention and formal complaints from users against the commercial airline.
At the air terminal of the Yucatecan capital, nine flights – including two connections to the city of Miami – with Aeroméxico were scheduled for this Saturday.
The airline staff attended a good part of the passengers trying to place them in other companies for the return to their places of origin.
Representatives of the airline stressed that the safety of their customers and collaborators is and will always be the main priority and therefore they applied follow-up protocols to various collaborators, including crews, which has implied making adjustments in the planned operations.
