On Friday morning, public security agents were mobilized after the report of a fire at the Fiesta Americana Condesa hotel in Cancun.
Cancun, Quinatan Roo, (January 15, 2022).- The report of a fire in the laundry area of the Fiesta Americana Condesa hotel mobilized the Fire Department, the Tourist Police, and the Mexican Red Cross, as well as activating the hotel’s fire brigade.
So far it is unknown how the fire started, but fortunately, no people were reported injured.
The incident was reported around 10 in the morning on Friday, January 14th, the fire broke out inside the indicated lodging center, which is located at kilometer 16.5 of Kukulcán Boulevard, right in the heart of the Cancun Hotel Zone.

Fire personnel arrived in the area, only to confirm that the pipe in the laundry area was on fire and had already reached the machines.
The brigade members had to evacuate the area where the fire was located for the safety of the employees and guests.
It was then that the elements of the firefighters moved to the upper part of the hotel, where the laundry room was located to suffocate and extinguish the flames, which they achieved after several minutes of intense work.

The place was cordoned off to prevent any curious from approaching and being in danger. Members of the National Guard also arrived at the site of the incident to support and learn of the events.
Some firefighters and brigade members had to receive doses of oxygen for having inhaled smoke, however, none of those present needed to be transferred to a hospital.
