Progreso, Yucatan (December 15, 2021).- Progreso continues to advance and position itself as the venue for national events, on this occasion and with the aim of promoting the practice of soccer and promoting economic activation, Progreso will host the “Puerto Progreso Cup”, which will be held from December 16 to 21, under an agile and attractive competition scheme, in addition, it has the support of the Sports Institute (IDEY) in charge of Carlos Sáenz Castillo, in coordination with Daniel Rossello Sambaino, promoter for 10 years of these tournaments.
“We are going to work with the City Council of Progreso for this demarcation, and carry out a national meeting on the boardwalk, with this we will achieve an economic reactivation, which was affected by the pandemic due to COVID-19” added Rossello Sambaino.
This cup will have 12 categories in the men’s and women’s branches, from microbes born in 2016 and 2017 to the senior youth, in addition to the international free, which will be played from the 16th to the 19th of that month, with the official beach soccer rules. FIFA.
In this event, the participation of the Mexican National Beach Soccer Team was confirmed and the participation of the state of Quintana Roo and different Municipalities of Yucatán will also be present.
Also present was Regidora Dulce Soberanis Gamboa, who attended on behalf of Mayor Julián Zacarías Curi, and recognized the work that is being done to achieve this event.
“This event will take place on the courts of the international boardwalk, and with this event we will inaugurate this work,” said Soberanis Gamboa.
And she added, “It is the first beach soccer cup, but not the last, this activity will help to obtain an economic benefit in Progreso, we will continue working to continue promoting the Sport.”
Before finalizing, the presentation of the uniforms that will be used during the tournament was made and each category will have a different design.
