Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, (December 07, 2021).- When calling on the population to file the corresponding animal abuse reports in the municipality of Ciudad del Carmen, Juan Gabriel Martínez Martínez, president of Guardianes de la Naturaleza AC, affirmed that there is a high rate of this crime that is registered in the city.
He regretted that the environmental authorities of the state ensure that in Carmen there are no cases of animal violence when the reality is that there is a record of between four and six daily cases, an approximate average of 120 cases per month.
Complaint
“Through social networks, the members of Guardianes de la Naturaleza AC, urges the to prevent further attacks against these living beings,” explained the activist.
The environmentalist stressed that in recent days, through a complaint through social networks, it was possible to see a male person, severely punishing a canine, for which the corresponding complaint was filed and they are taking carry out investigations by the corresponding authorities.
“We trust that the authorities, in this case, the Regional Vice Prosecutor General of Justice based in Carmen, will carry out the necessary investigations to punish the person responsible for the incident.”
Sanctions
He recalled that animal abuse is a crime that is punished with fines and even corporal punishment, for which it is necessary for the population to comply with its obligation to report the facts so that investigations can be carried out and applied sanctions.
The activist mentioned that complaints on social networks are not enough since it is necessary for them to go to the corresponding authorities to act accordingly.
He asked the environmental authorities of the state to expedite the procedures for filing complaints and protecting domestic animals, remembering that they are living beings and the laws in the state protect them from possible aggressors.
“To the extent that we denounce, we will be defending the lives of these living beings that deserve a dignified life,” he concluded.
