Mérida, Yucatán, (December 18, 2021).- With 20 teams from Yucatán, 12 from Campeche, and eight from Tabasco, the Winter Baseball Circuit began, which was called by the association “Yucatán pinta Mejor”, in the Yucatán League, with 10 children’s and youth categories, from 8 to 17 years old.
After the parade of participants, Juan Méndez Arcila, president of the venue, welcomed them; Carlos Sáenz Castillo, director of the Institute of Sports (IDEY), inaugurated the tournament on behalf of Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, and Luis Correa Xacur, head of this group, issued a message.
Later, Karen Achach Ramírez, Sports Councilor of the Mérida City Council, took charge of the protest and the meetings began; It will conclude this Sunday, Dec. 19, afternoon, with the awarding of the winners in each aspect.
This activity reinforces the actions of the Executive to promote discipline, such as the Sports Initiation Academies, whose objective is to promote physical activity among girls, boys and adolescents from 105 municipalities, which have as an example those who now dispute this regional competition.
