Anticyclonic system prevents the arrival of cold fronts

MÉRIDA, Yucatán.- This Thursday, December 9th, the weather will be warm in Yucatán due to the circulation of an anticyclonic system, which generates the entrance of warm and humid air to the region.

Mostly clear to partly cloudy conditions are forecast, with the possibility of isolated showers in the north and east of Yucatán.

Temperatures will be hot during the day and mild to warm at night. Maximum temperatures will continue to reach between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius.

It is foreseen that cloudy skies will persist during the afternoon due to the entrance of tropical maritime air, driven by the anticyclonic circulation that dominates the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.

It was initially believed that the abnormally warm December period in the Yucatán Peninsula could come to an end on the Day of the Virgin, but a new update suggests that the current weather could extend even until Christmas.
