International karate conference and seminar to take place in Mérida, Yucatán

Merida, Yucatan, (October 29, 2021).- Within the framework of the International Karate Day, the Congress and VIII International Seminar of this discipline called “The Legacy of Sensei Taji Kase” will be held at the Francisco de Montejo Sports Unit, where the official presentation of the event was held.

The Francisco de Montejo Sports Unit is located at Calle 30 # 218 between 29 and 33, Francisco de Montejo V Stage, Industrial Zone Mérida, Yucatán

From Thursday, October 28 to Saturday, October 30, starting at 4:00 p.m., the court of said venue will receive karate players from local academies such as Shotokan Juan Pablo, Dojo Medina, Las Américas, Shotokan Brisas, Dojo Valle, Shotokan Montecarlo, Dojo Ronin.

The training clinics will be taught by Sensei Albert Boutboul (9th Dan); French Sensei Emmile Chemmana (7th Dan), Sensei Alejandro Zarate (Nayarit) (7th Dan), Sensei Mauro Moguel (7th Dan), and Sensei Hiram Medina (6th Dan).

Meanwhile, on Saturday 30, the International Congress will be held, by sensei Albert Boutboul Iks, Shotokan Ruyu Kase World Federation, and it will be held in a hybrid way (virtual and face-to-face) at 3:00 p.m., at the Posada Hotel Room of the Angel. Countries such as Israel, Ecuador, Venezuela, the United States, Colombia, Cuba, Russia, Pakistan, Nepal, Australia, Reunion Island, and Mexico will participate.

Teachers from states such as Chihuahua, Jalisco, Mexico City, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Yucatán, and the State of Mexico also participate.

Jesús Aguilar y Aguilar, Technical Secretary for Sports of the Mérida City Council, together with Mauro Moguel Esperón, President of the Yucatecan Karate Association, organizer of the event, announced these events.

Aguilar y Aguilar congratulated the constant work and that has not stopped during these times on the part of the Association, headed by Moguel Esperón.

Moguel Esperón explained that Sensei Boutboul is president of the IKS World Federation and one of the apprentices of Sensei Taiji Kase 10th Dan, who is recognized for being one of the first teachers responsible for the introduction of Karate-Do in Europe.

He is currently recognized as an advisor in more than 20 countries. Regarding Mexico, since 1998, he has been advising and visiting Mérida annually, since 2001. This is his eighth time in this city.

It is worth mentioning that the World Kase Ha Union was created in 2018 to promote the karate-do school as a legacy of the masters Gichin Funakoshi, Yoshitaka Funakoshi & Taiji Kase.
