Construction is almost complete on the wonderful new addition and upgrades to MEL. Final coats of paint are going on the new building, front patio walls and the front hallways.
They will be moving furniture back in sometime next week, and then reshelving the collections. They anticipate opening before the end of November, as soon as they can. As you can see from the pictures, they are going to have a wonderful library when this is done.
There will be four bathrooms, including a handicap accessible bathroom, and two bodegas. There will be an outdoor kitchen and huge island. Not only will there be a downstairs classroom, but MEL will have a fantastic upstairs terrace; you’ll feel as though you are in a tree house.
They are making the most of the beautiful plantings that abound, and their beloved trees take pride of place.
The back patio is a work in progress. They are putting together a team to work on landscaping the area, as well as paint the back walls; it’s going to be an ongoing community project.
