As of Friday, October 11, the Yucatecan Song Workshop “Sergio Esquivel” will be based at the “Palacio de la Música” National Center of Mexican Music, in a celebration for artists who share their musical proposals in this project, which will be 12 years old in November.
Felipe de la Cruz, who coordinates this program, from which Yucatecan singer-songwriters and performers have emerged, declared that this space is significant and motivating for the new talents, that previously used to meet at the House of Culture “Leopoldo Peniche Vallado, seeking to promote new talents. And the Palacio de la Música, is an ideal venue to expose their work to a wider audience, both local and foreign.
The Workshop will be held on the third floor of the Palace of Music from Friday, October 11, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., while the show will be held at the end of each month in the Patio de Cuerdas.
“It is an enclosure that will undoubtedly encourage people to join and manifest their artistic skills in different musical genres, but the invitation is also for the entire population of the Yucatan”, said singer-songwriter Felipe de la Cruz.
Felipe de la Cruz said that the 12th anniversary ceremony will take place on November 26, at 8:30 p.m., and that Maricarmen Pérez will be the “godmother” of the event.
Sedeculta informed that the workshop began on October 6 in Hunucmá, with a series of presentations in the state with the project known as Song Maker: Arts and Crafts, which aims to publicize the Workshop of the Yucatecan Song and disseminate the works of local authors and authors.
