The Mexican Embassy in Belize in collaboration with its National Chamber of Commerce held a business meeting with various business owners today. In the meeting business owners were presented with business opportunities of Expo PRO AGRO INNOVACIÓN 2019, an expo held in Chetumal Quintana Roo from October 23-25. According to Oscar Garcia Ramos, Chief Executive Officer of Integradora De Destinos Mexico.

Oscar Garcia Ramos, CEO, IDMX: “This presentation was made towards promoting the Proagro Innovacio which is an agro business event that is happening from the 23rd to the 25th of October in the city of Chetumal and the idea here was to invite entrepreneurs to participate in the event. It’s an event that is totally business oriented, we are bringing over from different parts of Mexico for this edition buyers.

These buyers what they are going to do is they are going to sit on this one to one meetings of business tables and they are expecting to receive different suppliers to show them their products and services that they can buy and take for Mexico or we even have someone that is interested in exporting products to France and Europe. So I think it is a very interesting opportunity not just because it is the type of event that supports and develops some strategic sectors but also because it demonstrates how close the relationship between Mexico, mainly the south eastern  part and Belize is and for what I’ve been hearing from different entrepreneurs that were in the presentation there are a lot of opportunities because the event is not focused on the large business or macro business it’s more focused into the business person that is looking for boutique type of products.

There are a lot of opportunities that are focused in on the agro business not just in agriculture so that was why the Chamber of Commerce of Chetumal was interested in developing this relationship that they already have from years but also looking forward into the possibility of creating a more open exchange in the market of this type of agro products not just towards but from Mexico to Belize also.”

The expo is one of several initiatives by the Mexican Institute to push economic activity and collaboration between Belize and Mexico.
