Again in Chiapas, a group of villagers from from the La Ceiba community, municipality of Simojovel de Allende, in the northern area of the state, arrived at the mayor’s headquarters to violently try to kidnap the municipal president Viridiana Hernández, claiming she didn’t fulfill her campaign promises.

Residents of the Pueblo Nuevo Sitalá ejido, went to the municipal presidency to demand from the mayor the pending works in their town; however, as they did not get an answer, they tried to retain the official, but when they did not find her, they kidnapped the Trustee (and president’s sentimental partner) Gilberto Martínez Andrade, from whom she allegedly divorced in order to appoint him as his subordinate.

In the brawl, security guards accompanying the officer fired shots to the air to try to deter the complainants and prevent the kidnapping, but they failed, as the mob grabbed Martínez Andrade, whose whereabouts are still unknown.
