The Merida English Library presents the private music collection of Christopher Collins Lee, world-renowned violin virtuoso, who travels around the world playing in exceptional festivals and is the Premier Concertino of the Symphony Orchestra of the Yucatan. He also is the leader of the String Quartet of Yucatan.
Chris has been collecting musical curios and manuscripts for most of his career. His dream is to create the first world-class music museum in México for the interest, entertainment and education of people of all ages here in Mérida.
This is your opportunity to see this exciting and fascinating collection with a small group that will be guided by the musician. Some of the items in the collection are a Stroh Violin, which was used for very early violin recordings, early phonographs including disc and cylinder recordings and several pochettes dating back to the 17th century.
A reception in one of Mérida’s loveliest colonial homes is included.
