Photographic exhibition “Women and Human Rights” on display in Mérida

The inauguration of the photographic exhibition “Women and Human Rights” was held at the Regional Hospital of High Specialty (Hospital Regional de Alta Especialidad), and the ceremoy ws presided by the President of the Human Rights Commission of the State of Yucatan (Comisión de Derechos Humanos del Estado de Yucatán: CODHEY), Miguel Óscar Sabido Santana.

The exhibition consists of 16 images, winners of the fourth State Contest, which central theme was “Women”.

The Director General of the Regional Hospital of High Specialty, Dr. Alfredo Medina Ocampo, said that the photographic exhibition is a perfect opportunity to spread the importance of human rights of women among the medical staff as well as among patients.

And he recalled that the Hospital works closely with the Human Rights Commission of the State of Yucatan in training actions to strengthen respect for the human rights of patients and workers.

Among the photographic works which will remain on display for a month:

  1. “Purity”, by Pedro Tec Chim: first place.
  2. “United Women” by César de Jesús Gutiérrez Peña: second place.
  3. “We are oneself” by Beatriz Alejandra Casanova Tun: third place.
