Mexicos City’s Chapultepec Park wins “Large Urban Park Gold Award”

The woodlands of Mexico City’s Chapultepec Park have received the International Large Urban Parks Gold Award.

The World Urban Parks Association named this park the “Best Urban Forest in the World”. The award considers factors such as historic, cultural, and environmental significance.

For a city notorious for air pollution, Chapultepec Park is perhaps the capital’s most valuable space.

Mexico City’s iconic and largest park, the sprawling Bosque de Chapultepec, has been awarded the gold medal by international organization World Urban Parks in the 2019 International Large Urban Parks Award, for the city’s commitment to restoring it to “its full potential, providing recreation, culture, history and biodiversity”.
