According to Danielle Wiiliams, an American Expat living in Baja California Mexico, President Donald Trump’s racist message towards Mexicans has been a factor for many Americans preferring to better live in Mexico than in their own country.Williams, an American based in Rosarito Beach, Baja California, Mexico said: “I have a slightly different opinion, I think the wall is a good idea, but for Americans to stay up there in the US.”Half an hour from San Diego, California, is Playas de Rosarito, one of the cities preferred by Americans to live, and Danielle has lived for 25 years in a suburb south of this Mexican city.“Mexico is my new country, very, very nice people, a lot of ‘respect’ for Americans, etc., I have security in my life, because they help you all the time, it’s more relaxing and I like all about living here,” he said.“The mishandling of the economy by president Trump is the reason why they are migrating from north to south”, Danielle says.“In California it is very, very expensive as you know, to have an apartment near the sea, so I came to Rosarito, which is very close to the border. ” she said.“In the municipal palace of Playas de Rosarito an office operates to facilitate any procedure required by foreign residents in this city”, explained Alexander Magnum, coordinator of International Relations of Playas de Rosarito.“San Miguel de Allende was number one before, but I was there about two, three months ago and they informed me that in Rosarito we have 15 to 18 thousand foreigners living here right now,” he added. In the last two years the regularization of Americans in Mexican territory has become a constant.“The number is growing, month after month we receive a significant amount of Americans that move down here, and they are legally living in Mexico,” he said.“Since President Donald Trump took office, the American community in Mexican territory has grown slowly but steadily, here in Baja California there are around 100,000 Americans”, the coordinator of International Relations of Playas de Rosarito concluded.Source: The Baja Post
