Cancun, Q.R. — An American man swimming in the Cancun Hotel Zone has died from drowning. The accident happened just before 10:00 a.m. Monday at Kilometer 12.5 of Boulevard Kukulcán
The man was pulled from the water by two on-duty lifeguards and given CPR, however, he no longer had vital signs.
The man has been identified as 45-year-old Thai T.N. from Texas. He was taken to a private hospital where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
