The GIFF 2019 organization committee officially announced the cancellation of the visit of American actor Nicolas Cage.
The Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF) reported that Mr. Nicolas Cage canceled the visit to the festival due to medical reasons, because the actor is going through an acute case of sinusitis that prevents him from flying to Mexico, besides, he is currently working in a new production, situation that supports the medical opinion of not traveling while sick.
“Personally, Nicolas Cage, wishes to communicate that he feels very distressed and sorry for not being able to attend the Festival this time, but has promised to attend a new invitation to meet his audience,” said the GIFF in a statement.
The GIFF organization committee added that the rest of the activities will continue to be carried out as planned, however, from the moment of the announcement some events in which Mr. Cage’s participation was considered, had to be changed or cancelled.
