Sierra Club Representatives Speak Out Ahead of Trump Preliminary Injunction Appeal
Oakland, CA– On Thursday, June 20th, a federal judge will hear the Trump Administration’s appeal of a preliminary injunction granted in a lawsuit against the president’s national emergency declaration.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Sierra Club, and Southern Border Communities Coalition won a preliminary injunction to block the Trump administration from using military funds to build 50-55 miles of new border wall in Arizona and New Mexico.
The three groups filed for the injunction when the administration requested a transfer of funds to construct over 213 miles of new border wall in New Mexico and Arizona.
WHAT: Ahead of the hearing in the 9th Circuit Court, Sierra Club representatives are available for comment and interview on the lawsuit in both English and Spanish (by phone or video).
