Yucatecan teachers will be recognized for their career with medals and economic incentives

The Secretary of Education of the State of Yucatán (Segey) will publicly recognize a total of 507 elementary, secondary and high schoo teachers, who have completed 30, 40 and even 50 years of service.

These school teachers will receive medals and economic incentives ranging from 50 thousand to 82 thousand pesos.

Through the official decrees that the State Government previously instituted, in this 2019 the “Raquel Dzib Cicero” medal will be awarded to 429 teachers with 30 years of work, of which 203 belong to federal schools and 226 to state schools. In addition, each teacher will receive an economic stimulus of around $50,550 pesos.

In the case of teachers who have completed 40 years of educational service, the Federal Government through the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) created the “Maestro Altamirano” Mexican Order award, with the purpose of recognizing, stimulating and rewarding the teachers that have dedicated 40 years of their lives to instruction.

62 teachers from Yucatán, (34 from federal and 28 from state schools), will be given medals and an economic incentive of 82,000 pesos each.

In the case of professors with 50 years or more in the classrooms, the state executive created the “Pablo Moreno Triay” medal, that will be awarded to 16 mentors (14 from federal schools and 2 of state), and each will receive a bonus of $82,000 pesos.
