Civil Protection of the State of Puebla asked people to respect safety and avoid approaching the Popocatepetl volcano crater, as another group of young people shared a video on social networks where they can be seen celebrating having reached precisely the volcano’s crater.
Overflowing with adrenaline, the group of at least five young people recorded themselves next to the Popocatépetl volcano crater, one of the six most dangerous in Mexico.
The Popocatépetl’s crater is a highly dangerous area, totally unstable, that could register explosions at any given moment, that would literally turned these kids to ashes in a matter of seconds.
Through Twitter, the General Coordination of Civil Protection of the state of Puebla emphasized that practicing mountaineering in an active volcano is not a sport, since it exposes the lives of the rescuers and their own, and also urged the entire population to respect the restriction area of 12 kilometers around the base of the Popocatépetl volcano.
Civil Protection added that if people approach the area, they are exposed to toxic gases, explosions and incandescent rocks that could injure or kill them.

Although the Popocatépetl is an active volcano, in which mudflows and incandescent material, lava and avalanches are frequent, this is the second time this year that a group of young men and women, violate safety regulations and climb all the way to the top, to the base of the crater.
