Incidents involving firearms were recorded during the weekend in the San Gervasio neighborhood of the island of Cozumel, where three attacks occurred that fortunately did not result in any casualties or people injured.

The first incident was recorded on the evening of Friday May 10th, on Avenida Miguel Borge Martín, between Calle 5 and Hidalgo, where unidentified men allegedly tried to execute a subject whose name was not revealed by local auhtoirites, but failed to do so. One vehicle and the facade of a business were damaged with at least one dozen impacts of a firearm.

The weird thing was that the Ministerial Police arrived on site, but never cordoned off the area while the investigations were carried out. And Commander of the Ministerial, Sergio Pérez Téllez, reported the fact as false, even when the damage was evident.

The second incident occurred in the same neighborhood on Saturday May 11th, at dawn, on the corner of Avenida 135 and Calle Morelos, where shots were fired into the air and onto the floor, and more than fourteen 9 millimeter firearm casings were found on site. Fortunately, there were no injuries or material damage.

Finally, on Sunday May 12, on the corner of Avenida Felix Gonzalez with Calle Morelos, also in San Gervasio, firearm detonations were reported, and seven impacts of 9-mm firearm were also detected, without any casualties or injuries reported.
