Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal supervised the conservation and rehabilitation works carried out on the Mérida-Progreso highway, one of the busiest roads in the state, works promoted by the Government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and in which 34.3 million pesos are being invested.
The Governor highlighted the importance of the joint efforts between the state, federal and municipal governments to promote road preservation work in different parts of the state, so that Yucatan can be better connected and motorists can move around in a safe environment.
The Mérida-Progreso highway plays a fundamental role for the Yucatecan industry, so that companies will have greater facilities for the transfer of their products, which adds to the state’s competitiveness.
The State Transport and Communications Secretariat (Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes: SCT) is currently working on patching, re-leveling, garbage collection, weeding, as well as cleaning of signals and drainage infrastructure, along more than 1,560 kilometers of roads and highways, with an investment of more than 87 million pesos.
