Suspect of Canadian citizen’s murder arrested

MOTUL Yucatan (SSP). – Agents of the SSP Investigative State Police (PEI) detained 31 year-old Carlos Ernesto C.P., on Monday April 22. The man is accused of the murder of Canadian citizen Bruce Allen who was killed in Progreso, Yuc.,on Friday April 19.

Police officers located the suspect and aarrested him in the town of Motul, east of Merida. And in coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office, placed the suspect under the custody of the local Judicial authorities, in order to set a date for the initial audience prior to the sentence imputation.

It was said that the suspect is a native of Progreso, and according to investigation, he was observed on the day of the incident at the victim’s house, and it is believed that he stabbed the man to death at that place.

Local authorities are following two lines of investigation: one is robbery and the second one is “crimen pasional” (crime of passion).
