Mérida, Yuc.- On the early morning hours of Friday, April 26, a fire affected the electric substation of the CFE located in Ciudad Caucel, Mérida Municipality, where the flames were visible at a distance.

The incident was controlled in a timely manner by firefighters from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), who arrived at the site located on Calle 108 (between 59 and 63) of Colonia Los Almendros III.

It was reported that the substation belongs to the Ucú electrical system, which provides electrical power to Ciudad Caucel.

According to the data obtained, the fire originated in the control of medium and high voltage circuits, where a short circuit caused the cables to catch fire.
