MEXICO, March 31, 2019.- Apparently, for American Television network Fox News, all the countries below the southern border of the United States are Mexico (that’s how good their staff is at world Geography).
At least that’s the way it seems, because in a news show called Fox & Friends, three international news “specialists” reported the following: “Trump cuts US aid to 3 Mexican countries.”
According to Fox News, the president of the United States, Donald Trump, instructed his government on Friday March 29th, to begin a process that will cut all type of support and assistance to Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, according to a spokesman of the Department of State.
When addressing this news item, Fox News referred to these countries that form the Northern Triangle of Central America as “countries of Mexico”.
It should be noted that since last Thursday March 28, Trump once again attacked Mexico pointing out that absolutely nothing has been done by the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to try to reverse the migration crisis.
This situation highlights the ignorance of many Americans in relation to anything that happens outside their borders. We´re not only talking about the target audience that consumes Fox News content, but also those who produce this content.
