My wife and I are here at the resort. We watched from our patio as police came to investigate. We are visiting from Canada. Very sad reading all the ignorant comments from individuals that are not even here yet seem to think they know everything? The only person that knows what truly happened is that poor young man that lost his life. It is spring break. There are many young American students here intoxicated and acting without class or character. My wife and I are Canadian University graduates from a long time ago. Yes we partied. But we also respected others around us. The hotel currently has thier hands full with the amount of complaints coming from other guests about these American students. Very shameful to be representing your country like this. Very shameful how you disrespect this beautiful country and is its residents. The staff have been absolutely wonderful here. Incredible patience on thier behalf tolerating such arrogance from these American students. Very proud to say the Canadian students we have met were just as frustrated as we are. But that is part of being Canadian. You respect others and get respect in return. No self entitlement. As such, Canadians are treated very well in Mexico. Our condolences to the young man's family. Such an unfortunate and tragic loss.
