Author Perez-Reverte’s harsh response to Mexico’s president

Spain firmly rejects Mexico’s demand to apologize

The Spanish government reacted to the disclosure of the content of the letter, a statement which states that “deeply regrets” its publication and that “firmly rejects” the argument of the same. The Spanish Executive added that “it reiterates its willingness to work together with the Government of Mexico and to continue building the appropriate framework to intensify the relations of friendship and cooperation existing between our two countries, which will allow us to face future challenges with a shared vision”.

Similarly, the famous Spanish author Arturo Perez Reverte replied the following to Lopez Obrador:

“Let him apologize, who has Spanish surnames and lives there. If this individual really believes what he says, he is an imbecile. If he doesn’t believe it, he’s a scoundrel,” says the tweet.

The comment has been supported by the secretary general of Vox Santiago Abascal: “López Obrador, infected with indigenous socialism, does not understand that when he asks Spain for reparations he is actually insulting Mexico.

The Spanish government has refused to apologize but reiterates its willingness to work together with the Government of Mexico and to continue building the appropriate framework for intensifying relations of friendship and cooperation”-.

Note from the editors:
Mexico cannot be understood without Spain, none of us are of the original native people nor  Spanish, but descendants of both… we are Mexicans, and that implies a mixture that only occurred in Latin America. To apologize for that, or rather demand it, seems out of place, particularly since 500 years ago Mexico wasn´t a country and neither was Spain since it was the kingdom of Aragon and Castilla.
