A man was attacked inside his home in Progreso, Yucatán

On Wednesday February 27th, a young man was attacked when he was at home in Progreso, Yucatán, ending up with a cut in the neck.

According to preliminary information, two individuals aboard a black van arrived at the house of the victim identified as 20-year-old Luis PCJ, where the gate of the property was open, so both men entered the place and found the man cooking in front of a stove, they took him by surprise and with a knife, cut his neck and then fled the scene.

The victim, who began to bleed profusely, ran with his hands on his neck to ask for help, and managed to reach the corner before falling to the ground in the middle of a pool of blood. Residents of the area helped him and immediately notified the authorities. An SSP ambulance arrived at the scene, the paramedics responded in a timely manner, and fortunately after a few minutes, they were able to contain the hemorrhage and transferred the young man to a hospital in Progreso.

Unofficially it was reported that apparently the motive of the incident does not point to an attempted robbery, so it is speculated that the victim was probably involved in drug dealing or other illegal business, for which the authorities continue with the investigations.

The whereabouts of the alleged perpetrators is unknown up to now, and so far no arrests have been made in relation to this crime.
