A fiscal stimulus package that contemplates the reduction of up to 100 percent in taxes and rights in the first three years of activity, was presented by the Governor of Yucatan Mauricio Vila Dosal, as a strategy to encourage the arrival of more investment in infrastructure and tourist services for the state of Yucatán.
“In Yucatan, the priority is to generate better paid formal jobs for people in the inner part of the state, so we are offering these fiscal incentives, which will create sources of employment that will help people to get out of poverty,” said the state governor.
Before entrepreneurs of the tourism sector, gathered in the Hall of History of the Executive Branch, Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal signed the 33/2019 decree for the granting of tax incentives aimed at the consolidation of remodeling and rehabilitating projects in different parts of the state.
The fiscal incentives which will come into force in 30 days, are:
- In the Tax on Expenses for Remuneration to Personal Work a reduction of 100 percent will be made during the first and second year of activities and 50 percent in the third year of activities.
- In the Lodging Tax, there will be a reduction of 100 percent during the first and second year of activities and 50 percent in the third year of activities.
- In the Cedular Tax on business activities income, a reduction of 100 percent will be made during the first and second year of activities and 50 percent in the third year of activities.
- A reduction of 100 percent will be made during the first year of activities in the Rights for the services provided by the Directorate of Public Registry of Property and Commerce.
- There will also be a 100% reduction during the first year of activities in the Rights for services provided by the Cadastre Directorate (Dirección del Catastro). As well as the additional tax for the execution of works and social assistance.
